Mountain Living Magazine | July/August 2026 "All of a Piece"

    FEATURED IN MOUNTAIN LIVING MAGAZINE

    "All of a Piece"

    July/August 2026

Tandem Design Group is honored to have one of our recent projects featured in Mountain Living Magazine's July/August 2026 issue.

Located along the Frying Pan River in Basalt, Colorado, this retreat began as a collection of separate structures with little connection to one another. Together with architect Eric Hendrix of KADesignworks, builder Patrick Maley, and landscape architect Patrick Rawley, we transformed the property into a cohesive retreat that feels deeply rooted in its riverfront setting.

Reclaimed wood, stone, steel, and organic textures create a warm, layered interior that reflects the surrounding landscape. To unify the various structures, architectural details from the newly constructed log cabin were thoughtfully woven throughout the home, creating visual continuity and a shared design language. The result is a retreat that feels as though it has evolved organically over generations, seamlessly connecting the buildings to one another and to the landscape beyond.

We are grateful to our clients and project partners for helping bring this vision to life, and to Mountain Living Magazine and writer Paula M. Bodah for sharing its story.
